TEAM SERVICES DIRECTOR
Major League Lacrosse, the premiere professional outdoor men’s lacrosse league, has an immediate opening for a Team Services Director. The position is located at the League headquarters in Boston, MA.
This key organizational leader will report directly to the Commissioner and will be responsible for communicating with team offices regarding their daily operations, ticket sales and marketing strategies, and other aspects of their business planning and execution. The main responsibility for this position will be to develop, implement and manage successful digital media campaigns at the League level and assist the teams with adopting those campaigns to fit their local markets.
Responsibilities include fostering best practices discussions among the League’s teams with emphasis on maximizing tickets sales and fan attendance; collecting, analyzing and sharing ticket sales data among the teams; facilitating discussion among the teams concerning outside marketing efforts; dissecting collective data and transforming information collected from teams into successful action plans that can be shared league-wide; providing teams with industry trends to help improve sales and efficiencies; integrating league sponsor relationships with local team marketing efforts to maximize return for all parties, develop digital marketing strategies to increase exisiting revenue streams and develop new avenues for revenue and brand awareness.
Candidates should be self motivated and posses a high level of energy. Superior organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively across internal departments and with external partners is a must. Candidate must be able to quickly and creatively problem solve in a demanding environment.
Minimum of a BA/BS Degree as well as a minimum of three years experience within the sports industry (league or team level) is required with an emphasis on sales and/or digital marketing. Candidate must have the ability and willingness to travel throughout the year.

LACROSSE OPERATIONS ASSISTANT
Major League Lacrosse, the premiere professional outdoor men’s lacrosse league, has an immediate opening for a Lacrosse Operations Assistant. The position is located at the League headquarters in Boston, MA.
This key organizational leader will report directly to the Director of Business Operations and will be working closely with the current Lacrosse Operations Manager to execute all operational functions at the League level.
Responsibilities include:
-preparation and execution of player employment contracts
-management and analysis of player worker’s compensation claims and policies
-maintenance and upkeep of the League player pool database
-maintenance and upkeep of player personnel files and reports
-player payroll and tax compliance
-communication with team offices regarding player transactions
-enforcement of player handbook and team operations manual regulations league-wide
-revision and updating of league manuals as necessary
-communication with and management of league officials, including regular conferences and scheduling training opportunities
-development of league season schedule including special events
-event management of league player drafts, including collegiate and supplemental
-oversee league special events hosted by teams and/or executed by league office
-facilitate player’s council conferences with league office
-manage league photography rights and contracts
-maintain year round player relations on behalf of league office

Major League Lacrosse accepts applications from students presently enrolled in a college program, or those who have already obtained an undergraduate degree. Applicants for office positions must be entering as juniors or higher.
Internships are based at the MLL League offices, located in the Brighton neighborhood (02135) of Boston, MA. For PR/Sports Information and Video Production, positions are available for off-site work as well.
Students are encouraged to seek academic credit wherever possible, as ALL MLL internships are UNPAID positions. All interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation. The MLL office is not immediately accessible from the “T”; however, free parking is available onsite, and public bus routes that run nearby.
All on-site interns, regardless of department, are expected to assist with general office duties as needed such as answering telephones, filing, mailing prizes to fans, etc. Depending on location, interns may be asked to assist with on-site operations at League Special Events such as the Brine Major League Challenge and Collegiate Draft (late May), the MLL All-Star Game (mid-July), and MLL Championship Weekend (late August). The successful applicant will demonstrate strong organizational skills along with initiative, resourcefulness, and an ability to collaborate with fellow team members for the achievement of department goals.
Spring Internships typically run from January through mid-May.
Summer Internships typically run from mid-May through mid to late August.
Fall Internships typically run from September through early to mid-December.
Positions may vary from these time parameters and can be evaluated on a case by case basis.
GENERAL LEAGUE OPERATIONS (Available only during Spring and Summer)

Applications for Summer 2011 will be accepted, but not reviewed until the close of the 2010 season.
-Spring interns will be required to work at the MLL Collegiate Draft (Brine Major League Challenge) during the last week of May. This event will likely be hosted outside of the Boston area. The spring position will be primarily focused on preparation and execution for the draft itself. The position will also deal with follow up for preseason paperwork from returning contracted MLL players, general MLL team follow up in preparation for the upcoming 2009 season, and general operations relating to future special events including the All Star game and Championship Weekend. This position will start as a part time position and gradually will increase in total hours/days per week as needed as the college draft event approaches.
Summer interns will be required to work at League events including, but not limited to: MLL Collegiate Draft, MLL All Star Game, and MLL NB ZIP Championship Weekend. These events will likely be hosted outside of the Boston area. Attendance and work related participation at all of the MLL games held in the Boston area is also a requirement. The summer position will focus on follow up paperwork from the rookie draftees, various operational issues relating to the 2009 season in progress, and preparation and execution of operations for the All Star Game and Championship Weekend.

Major League Lacrosse is accepting applications for PR/Sports Information Interns.
PR/Sports Information internship positions are available as on-site office positions as well as remote location writing positions. General responsibilities vary by season and include, but are not limited to:
- Online Articles
- Interns will be assigned feature articles on a weekly basis.
- Interns will be expected to develop and write other stories whose topics should vary between lacrosse specific content, community service activities by MLL teams and players, as well as fun and interesting human interest stories featuring MLL players.
- Interns will conduct Q&A’s with MLL Players and Coaches to be posted online.
- Interns will write game previews and recaps for all MLL games (summer)
- Interns will manage stats and results on MLL website (summer)

- Interns will assist in monitoring message board discussions
- Interns will assist with the posting and upkeep on online photo and video galleries

Proven writing skills and the ability to work independently on projects are necessary. A working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and In Design, is preferred, though not required. All applicants must be proficient at Microsoft Excel.

VIDEO PRODUCTION**

Major League Lacrosse and Lax United are now accepting applications for Video Production Interns. Video journalists may apply to work on site at the Lax United office or as remote video content managers. The Lax United office is in the same building as the MLL League office. General responsibilities vary by season and include, but are not limited to:
- Video Production
- Interns should have a familiarity with and working knowledge of digital video recording and production techniques
- Interns will be responsible for recording and editing of player and coaches interviews
- Assist in the editing process for weekly video highlight packages and other assorted video elements for use on the web
- Interns will be expected to come up with ideas for creative web ads utilizing MLL players, etc.
- Interns should have working knowledge of Final Cut Pro
- Web Delivery
- Interns will assist with posting video content to web
- Interns should have familiarity with online content management systems
- Production of League Materials
- Interns will assist with production of digital media kits, and sponsor related items as needed
- Interns will produce video elements to be used on in-stadium video boards at special events and for end of season awards

- Interns will be responsible for organizing and cataloging MLL Video library
**An undergraduate or graduate major in the areas of Electronic and Film Media, Journalism, or New Media Production is preferred but not required for this position.
