The New York Lizards’ Rob Pannell broke the points scoring record he set just two seasons ago. He led MLL in goals (43), assists (35) and his points total of 78 was 16 more than his closest competitor, teammate Will Manny. The six-year MLL veteran also established the new points record in 13 games, rather than 14 as he did in 2016.
Pannell has now won the scoring title in three of the past four MLL seasons. He had a 10-point game versus Florida, a nine-point game including seven goals in New York’s playoff-clinching win in the regular season finale, and two eight-point games against Denver and Atlanta in the opening three weeks of the season. Pannell led or tied the team in scoring in 10-of-the-13 games in which he appeared.
