Happy Mother's Day

March 17, 2016
As Mother’s Day quickly approaches there is a lot to appreciate about all the devoted and caring mothers out there. Make sure to thank your mom for everything she has done, and for a last minute gift visit the MLL Shop.

There are also four games this Saturday for moms who want to celebrate their holiday early.  At these games there will be many moms sitting in the stands cheering on their own sons. To see some of these dedicated mothers with their sons make sure to visit the Mother’s Day Photo Gallery.

These mothers certainly do not go unrecognized and several players wanted to thank their moms for allowing them to live out their dreams and play for Major League Lacrosse:

“My Mom is my number one fan. No matter win or lose, score or miss, pass or drop - she's always positive. Without the loads of confidence she gives me on a weekly basis, I wouldn't be who I am today. She likes to leave all the corrections and humility to my Pops - who's great at that - but she also fed me enough greens at a young age to surface as one of the few Rabil's over 6 feet tall.”

- Paul Rabil, Boston Cannons

“I have the greatest mom in the world!  She has been coming to my games and supporting me in all that I do my entire life.  She has helped me become the man that I am today.  Thanks for everything, and I love you mom!  Happy Mother’s Day!”

- Anthony Kelly, Denver Outlaws

“My Mother has always been my biggest supporter!”

- Steven Waldeck, New York Lizards

“My mom is one of the most amazing people I have ever met in my entire life. She does everything she can for me and everyone else around her. She is the most selfless, loving and compassionate person I know and I am extremely lucky to have her in my life. All my friends love her and all of my other family members come to her for advice. Simply put, she is the rock in my family and makes my life so much better and easier to live.”

- Tom Celentani, Boston Cannons

“To the #1 mom in the world! Thank you for all the happiness you bring to me and everyone around you. Thank you also for rooting for UVA before any other school. Love Chris”

- Chris Bocklet, Denver Outlaws

“My mom has done everything imaginable for my two brothers and I. While living on the West Coast, she came to almost every one of my brothers’ and my games all over the country. Happy Mother's Day! Love, Alex”

-  Alexander Demopolous, Hamilton Nationals

“My mom is the best because she is loving, supportive and super awesome!  I cannot think of a time when she has not been there for me or my sister.  She is my #1 fan, and my biggest supporter.  I never had any doubt how much my mom loves and cares for my sister and I.  I consider myself one of the luckiest people ever to have her as my mom, and I hope she has a great Mother's Day.”

- Jake Beebe, Boston Cannons

"My mother has given me all the support I could ask for throughout my lacrosse career and spent hours in the car to get to road games. I would be nowhere without her love and support. I can’t wait to get home and spend the day with her on Mother's Day."

- Tim Fallon, Charlotte Hounds

“She is the most loving and selfless person I've ever known!”

-  Matthew Dolente, Hamilton Nationals

“My mom is the coolest. She's the hardest working, kindest, and most generous person I know. Happy Mother's Day Mom, doesn't get any better than you!”

- Mike Stone, Boston Cannons

“My family is extremely important to me and I'm not afraid to admit that I'm a "momma's boy". She has always been my number one fan and also my biggest critic. She always knows the right thing to say to get me focused and ready to play- she has even asked to jump in my teams' huddles before games to give the pregame speech. She has never let me settle for anything other than my best and she still reminds me that when I was 9 years old I told her that someday I would be a professional lacrosse player. I would not have never reached that dream without her support and sacrifices.”

- Will Koshansky, Rochester Rattlers

“She is my #1 fan, if you go back to the home machine games on ESPN3 you can hear her over 4,000 fans screaming my name every time I step on the field.  She inspires me with her free spirit and ability to have fun with just about anyone.  Her motherly instinct runs at 110% all the time, she has never stopped caring for me and it never goes unnoticed.  Happy Mother’s Day Mom - Love you!”

- Eric O’brien, Ohio Machine

“Kay has been a very special person in my life for about 8 years now.  If you look at last years Ohio Machine Q&A with Eric O'Brien, I listed my favorite restaurant as the Graf Residence.  Amazing cooking, I am there at least once a week for a tasty meal!  She knows how to host a party, can’t miss one of those.  Along with these traits she is a very caring person that I couldn't go without in life!  Thanks Kay!”

- Eric O’Brien, Ohio Machine

“She is the best mom in the world because she has supported me in everything that I have done and shaped me into the man I am today.  It is safe to say I am more of a ‘Mama's Boy’”

- Jeremy Boltus, Denver Outlaws

“My mom's the true definition of a beauty. Mom Bro Chill is all about brightening people's day and if you've met her I know you've felt the love. She's a true B.A.B.E. LOVE YOU MOM!”

- Connor Martin, Ohio Machine

“Mom is my biggest fan.  I can always count on her for support no matter what I'm doing.”

- Kyle Sweeney, Boston Cannons

“The #1 Tailgater in the MLL and my biggest supporter.”

- Mike Gabel, Boston Cannons

“She had to deal with 3 boys and my dad…enough said!”

- Justin Turri, Denver Outlaws

“My Mom is the best mother in the world because she has always supported me in whatever I'm doing, and has never once complained (the countless hours spent at sporting events growing up included). I Love you Mom!”

- PT Ricci, Boston Cannons

"Have you seen any other mother out there with an enlarged cardboard cutout of their son's head?  Thanks for everything, Mom!  Happy Mother's Day!"

- Jordan Burke, Boston Cannons

“It is tough to put into words why my mother is the best.  She is always there for all of her kids, no matter what.  I don’t think I have met a person who is more understanding and caring for the people that she loves.  Not quite sure where I would be without her.  Behind every good man is a great woman and my mom certainly fills that roll for me.”

- Ryan Nizolek, Boston Cannons

“My mom is a constant source of support and encouragement in my life.  I am very blessed to have a mom that is so caring, loving, and such a big time fan of mine.  Wishing Martha a Happy Mother's Day!”

- Jeremy Sieverts, Denver Outlaws

“Thank you for all the sacrifices you've done for me throughout the years. From all the camps and clinics you brought me too. To all the travel tournaments you turned into family vacations. I couldn't be a luckier son! Thank you for everything you've done and continue to do! Have a happy wonderful Mother's Day! Love you very much!”

- Stefan Schroder, Ohio Machine

“When I think of my Mom, I think of someone who is so strong willed, has so much love and care and always is looking out to do what is best for her family and most importantly her kids! She has always been there to teach me so many life-lessons, when I was down-picked me up and when I needed some good old’ motherly advice (whether I asked for it or not) she was always there for me. We always seemed to find some time in there to have fun and laugh!! I love my mom so much and am so very lucky to have her in my life!”

- Stephen Berger, New York Lizards

“Happy Mother's Day to the most caring person I know! No matter how busy she is, she'll stop everything just to help anyone out.  Thanks for all that you do! I love you!”

- Mike Lazore, Rochester Rattlers

Now that you know how much players from around the league appreciate about their mothers, do not forget to tell your mom what makes her great, and show her with some MLL gifts and tickets to a game!
