The Rochester Rattlers (2-3), and the Boston Cannons (1-4), square off this weekend at Kennesaw State University Stadium, marking the first ever Major League Lacrosse game to be played in sunny Atlanta, Georgia. The contest begins at 8:00 p.m. (ET) and will be broadcast live nationally on CBS Sports Network.

The Rattlers and Cannons will meet for the 21 st time on Friday, each program entering the game with 10 wins in the series. Boston has taken three of the last four meetings, with Rochester stealing the most recent. These teams have a proven history as they are both original members of the MLL, which began in 2001. They will meet again this year on Saturday, August 10, capping off the 2013 regular season in Boston.

Last season Rochester and Boston split their meetings, each taking a win at their home field. Boston got the first on April 28, destroying the Rattlers 15-3. Rochester bounced back on June 1, taking the Cannons to overtime and earning a 17-16 decision. Boston scored three straight goals in the fourth quarter to force extra time before Roy Lang put the game away. The overtime meeting was the third between the franchises, with Rochester leading the category 2-1.

Boston enters the weekend coming off a 24-14 loss to the undefeated Denver Outlaws. This season Boston is giving up a League worst 16.2 goals per game, with no opponent scoring fewer than 14 goals. Boston’s goalie Jordan Burke will get the start between the pipes after missing a couple of games due to an early season injury. He has yet to earn a win this season, and is giving up a League worst 17.36 goals against average. On the flipside, Paul Rabil is leading the League in scoring, accumulating 25 points en route to an averaged five points per game. Chris Eck is 66-120 at the faceoff X, earning a .55 win percentage.

Rochester travels to Atlanta for the second of three destination games this season. Thus far, Rochester is 0-1 at neutral sites, and will look to improve upon that record against the Cannons. The Rattlers beat the Ohio Machine 9-7 last weekend behind strong play from goalie John Galloway. His 16 saves earned him Warrior Defensive Player of the Week honors. Offensive threat Jordan MacIntosh has 10 goals on the season, coupled with a .526 shooting percentage. Rookies Dave Lawson [Duke] and Peter Johnson [Yale] will be practicing with the team this week, and will most likely make their debut this weekend.

Next the Cannons visit the Charlotte Hounds on Saturday June 15 at 7 p.m. while Rochester travels to Ohio to face the machine at 7:30 p.m. in the MLL YouTube game of the week.
