Game Notes: New York - Rochester

The New York Lizards return home after a four-game road trip which resulted in four losses. The Lizards will face the Rochester Rattlers Saturday, July 27 at 6:30pm at Shuart Stadium in Hempstead. The game will be broadcast live nationally on CBS Sports Network.

The Lizards have dug themselves in quite a hole and are resting at 3-8, while the Rattlers need a win to fight for playoff contention.

Rochester is coming off of a two game losing streak after playing the Hamilton Nationals July 7 and the Denver Outlaws July 20. In the 12-9 loss to the Outlaws, rookie Dave Lawson led the Rattlers with three goals. Ned Crotty also helped with one goal and two assists while John Galloway was solid in between the pipes with 14 saves.

The Lizards look to regroup after a four game losing streak dating back to June 21. The Lizards recently dropped a close 13-11 game to the Charlotte Hounds. The effort was led by Greg Gurenlian who went 17-22 in the faceoff x while scooping up 10 ground balls and recording an assist. Offensively, Rob Pannell controlled the pace with three goals and two assists. 2012 Warrior Goalie of the Year Drew Adams kept the defense together with 18 saves.

In week nine, the first of the two-game series between the Lizards and Rattlers took place, the Rattlers walked away with the W in a 13-10 decision. Rochester was led by game MVP Kevin Leveille (3g, 2a) and Lawson (2g, 3a). Rookie Rob Pannell recorded five points on four goals and one assist in the loss for the Lizards.

Next the Lizards will take on Denver in New York, August 4, a game that will be broadcast live nationally on CBS Sports Network. The Rattlers will travel to Annapolis, Md.,  to play the Bayhawks August 3. The game will be featured on ESPN3.Com.
