Warrior Offensive Player of the Week: Deemer Class

May 8, 2018

BOSTON (May 8, 2018)
– Atlanta Blaze midfielder Deemer Class was named the Warrior Offensive Player of the Week for Week 3. Class and the Blaze improved to 2-1 on the season with a 16-14 win over the Lizards on Sunday.

Class, 24, matched the all-time record for two-point goals in a single game with three. He became the first player to score three two-pointers since Chesapeake’s Kyle Dixon on April 27, 2013. His third two-pointer broke a 12-12 tie in the fourth quarter and Atlanta never lost the lead. Class finished the game with a career-high nine points and led the Blaze with 12 shots on goal. He became the second Blaze player to ever record nine points in a game, joining Randy Staats, who had a nine-point game on May 14, 2016. His four two-point goals this season lead the league.

The Blaze originally drafted Class with the 10th-overall selection in the 2016 Collegiate Draft out of Duke, making him the second draft choice in the history of the franchise after Myles Jones went in the first round.
