Week 14 Warrior Defensive Player of the Week: Nick Marrocco

August 1, 2018
Major League Lacrosse has named Nick Marrocco, the Boston Cannons rookie goaltender, Warrior Defensive Player of the Week for Week 14.

Marrocco, who was making his second-ever MLL start, ended Charlotte’s playoff hopes by turning aside 23-of-29 shots in the Cannons' 14-7 victory at Harvard Stadium last Saturday. After playing solid in the cage against the prolific Lizards’ attack in his first start, Marracco slammed the door shut on the hungry Hounds to earn his first professional victory. Marrocco made 11 saves in the first half and 12 in the second half.

Marrocco, a Duxbury, Mass., native and graduate of Georgetown University, was a first-team All-American, was first-team All Big-East and was named Most Outstanding Player in the Big East tournament.
