David Gross joined Major League Lacrosse’s front office as its Chief Operating Officer in December of 2003. Prior to that, Gross was named Vice President & General Manager of the Boston Cannons before their inaugural season in 2001. After leading that organization for three years, Gross transitioned to the League office as COO, and was subsequently named the League’s first ever Commissioner in 2004.
As Commissioner, Gross is responsible for the League’s strategic planning, growth and overall operations. Gross handles all budgeting, forecasting, television rights negotiations, and business development. Gross is committed to a steady and calculated expansion plan for the League which involves bringing MLL to a total of 16 teams within the next ten years.
As part of the overall growth of Major League Lacrosse and the sport of lacrosse itself, Gross has been instrumental in bringing the major endemic suppliers of lacrosse equipment together to share a stake in providing goods to the best players in the world. With industry leaders such as Warrior, Brine, STX, Maverik, and Cascade joining MLL as sponsor suppliers, MLL has built a reputation for working with the best in the business and continuing to set the highest of standards both on and off the field.
Along with securing partnerships with the industry’s leaders in lacrosse equipment, Gross has brought the sport of lacrosse to many powerhouse non-endemic partners who have successfully added MLL to their stable of sports related properties. Brands such as Coca-Cola, PowerAde, Anheuser-Busch, Gatorade, New Balance, Dicks Sporting Goods and Sports Authority have all been part of the League’s strategy to bring lacrosse into mainstream major media marketing.
Broadcasting is a major component to growing the following of the sport of lacrosse. During his tenure with the League, Commissioner Gross has negotiated many agreements to expand the overall visibility and coverage of lacrosse on television, radio and the internet. ESPN, Universal Sports Network, CBS Sports Network, You Tube and countless regional cable partners have all partnered since the inception of the League to carry a steady stream of MLL broadcasting ranging from live game coverage to a weekly dedicated magazine show created specifically for Major League Lacrosse.
Commissioner Gross also maintains an active schedule outside of Major League Lacrosse volunteering his time with local youth sports programs, conducting speaking engagements at collegiate business and marketing seminars, and was recently named to the Boston Chapter Board of the National Sports Marketing Network.
Broadcasting and Digital Media Manager
Chris Day joined Major League Lacrosse as Director of Broadcasting in March 2008. He oversees the production of all the Major League Lacrosse telecasts, which are syndicated on Regional Sports Networks and works with ESPN on the MLL Game of the week. He also works with the LAX United website and the coordination of content from the broadcasts to the web.
Prior to joining Major League Lacrosse he worked for 13 years in remote sports television production, the last eight as a producer of live sporting events.
Chris is a graduate of Ithaca College with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.
Amy joined Major League Lacrosse in February of 2011. She manages the day-to-day accounting functions for the league, benefits management, cash flow management, budget analysis, financial statement preparation and human resources. Amy is also in charge of the league office and player payroll.
Prior to joining Major League Lacrosse, Amy was a Senior Accountant at GRKB, a public accounting firm, for three years. There, she gained great experience in auditing small businesses, employee benefit plans, and various taxes. She received her Bachelor’s and MBA from Assumption College in Accounting and Human Resources.
Ryan joined Major League Lacrosse in May 2010. He produces video and animated and static graphic elements for use on majorleaguelacrosse.com, in-stadium video boards, creative television and web marketing, digital media kits, sponsor related items, money reels, the MLL YouTube channel and special events. He is the Head Editor and Assistant Producer of Lax United’s magazine style show Inside The MLL which airs weekly on CBS Sports Network.
Prior to joining Major League Lacrosse, Ryan worked for one year as a Production Assistant with WHDH-TV, the local NBC news affiliate in Boston, MA. His other professional experiences include interning with The Escape Artists on the Sony Pictures Studio Lot in Culver City, CA and Rugged Entertainment in West Hollywood, CA. He was also a video-production intern with Major League Lacrosse.
Ryan graduated from Ithaca College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Television Video Production and a Minor in Business Administration.
Lacrosse Operations Manager
Colin joined Major League Lacrosse in March of 2014.
As Lacrosse Operations Manager, Colin maintains year round player relations on behalf of the League office and is in charge of various Player & Team related logistics such as preparation and execution of player employment contracts, upkeep of player personnel files and reports, maintenance and upkeep of the League player pool database, management of international player applications, communication with and management of League officials, facilitation of team equipment in-season, on-field game operations, and management of the League manuals relating to all game activity and rules of play. Colin also heads up the League’s worker’s compensation policy management and enforces League-wide insurance compliance.
In addition to his lacrosse operational day to day duties, Colin works with the League’s Special Events Manager to facilitate successful execution of the League player draft process, Collegiate and Supplemental, as well as many operational tasks for the League’s All-Star Game and post-season playoff games.
Prior to joining Major League Lacrosse Colin was an Account Analyst for Granite Telecommunications in Quincy, MA.
Colin, a native of Ellington, CT, received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Coastal Carolina University where he also played lacrosse.
Marketing and Brand Manager
Kevin joined Major League Lacrosse in March of 2015. Kevin is a strategic marketing manager with over 8 years of experience building brands. He is working to develop strategy and execution of content, community and partnership marketing through digital media. While also, developing exciting experiential programming for Major League Lacrosse fans.
Kevin has experience in cultivating community to drive equity, activation, reputation and sales. Having grown a variety of brands, he has a history of using creativity and an entrepreneurial spirit to deliver growth and business solutions
Prior to joining Major League Lacrosse, Kevin worked for such brands as Redhook Brewery, Magners Irish Cider, Yahoo! and Pretty Instant.
Kevin graduated from Merrimack College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing.
Special Events Manager
Keith joined Major League Lacrosse in November of 2015. Keith is an events and marketing professional with over 6 years of experience in directing, producing, and promoting events. He is responsible for overseeing the League’s annual live events and their applicable surrounding activities including the Collegiate Draft, All-Star Game, Semi-Final playoffs and the Championship Game.
Prior to joining Major League Lacrosse, Keith worked with the Walt Disney Company managing their events and promotions for New England. He also has previous sports experience working with the Worcester Sharks, previously of the AHL, and the Boston Bruins of the NHL both helping to produce and execute their live game day experiences.
Keith graduated from Endicott College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sports Management.
