Commissioner David Gross completed his 10th season at the helm of Major League Lacrosse in 2013 and during his tenure has created a truly national footprint for the league.
Gross first joined Major League Lacrosse with the Boston Cannons before their inaugural season as Vice President & General Manager. After leading that organization for three years, Gross moved to the league office as Chief Operating Officer in December of 2003.
In his first year at the league level he helped grow attendance by 34 percent. During his tenure attendance has steadily grown, highlighted by the 27,184 fans who attended the July 3rd game in Denver in 2011, a professional lacrosse record. In July of 2004, Gross was elevated from his position as COO to become MLL’s first-ever Commissioner. As Commissioner, Gross is responsible for the league’s strategic planning and day-to-day operations. He oversees all marketing and public relations efforts, which have increased the league’s brand awareness. Gross handles all budgeting, forecasting, television rights negotiations, special event planning, and business development.
In 2007 Gross negotiated an historic 10-year contract with ESPN, which is the longest commitment given by any television outlet to a lacrosse entity. In 2011 ESPN2 aired six live MLL games including the All-Star Game and Championship Weekend. For the third consecutive year, every game in 2011 was televised and streamed live on ESPN3.com. Recently, Gross has negotiated major broadcasting deals with the CBS Sports Network and YouTube. In 2014, the MLL will air 24 live games on CBS Sports Network, as well as 20 games on ESPN3 and 16 games on YouTube.
Gross has also spearheaded MLL’s expansion initiatives. He oversaw the 2006 expansion and in January 2011, announced the Charlotte Hounds and Ohio Machine would join as expansion teams. In November 2013, Gross announced the MLL would expand to Florida, as the Florida Launch will join play in 2014. Gross has announced expansion plans that will bring the MLL to a total of 16 teams before the end of this decade.
Gross has been active with sponsorship, helping MLL add Sports Authority, Ford, POWERADE, Fathead, Tequila Avion, Brine and Skinit to the MLL stable of corporate sponsors, while also receiving stronger commitments from longtime MLL sponsors Bud Light, New Balance, Warrior and Cascade.
In 2008, Gross was named President of Lax United Marketing, a sister company to MLL that has the broadcast and digital media rights for the league.
Special Events & Brand Management
Kerry Pucillo is entering her 13th season with Major League Lacrosse.
Kerry coordinates the League's special events' operations which include the collegiate draft, the All-Star Game and the Championship Game. She also works on maintaining and fulfilling the League's national sponsorship partner agreements and developing the League's national licensee programs. Kerry works with the League's legal counsel on the management and protection of League intellectual properties, assets and trademarks. She continues to manage the Teams' on-field uniform selections, sideline apparel and equipment needs in collaboration with the League's national suppliers.
In her first seven years with the League office, Kerry oversaw all operational affairs of the League including business and tax regulation compliance, payroll and human resources, bookkeeping and finance, management and protection of League intellectual assets and trademarks, license agreement maintenance, insurance and worker’s compensation polices, special event operations and interdepartmental office management.
Prior to joining the League office, Kerry spent four years as the head of Team Operations with the Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse. There, she managed office operations in addition to overseeing Cannons gameday activity. During her tenure, she also helped develop the Team’s first cyber retail store and also implemented strict standards for the Team’s high school and college internship programs.
Kerry came to professional lacrosse from the apparel industry where she worked for Cape Heights Inc, a manufacturer and wholesaler of high end outerwear. From 1994 to 2002, she worked primarily as a senior apparel production manager and also oversaw the company’s tradeshow event management. Kerry managed private label production for such brands as Lands’ End, Eastern Mountain Sports, and Cabela’s, among others.
A native of Billerica, Massachusetts, Kerry obtained her Bachelor’s of Science Degree from Framingham State College and currently resides in New Hampshire with her family.
Broadcasting and Digital Media Manager
Chris Day joined Major League Lacrosse as Director of Broadcasting in March 2008. He oversees the production of all the Major League Lacrosse telecasts, which are syndicated on Regional Sports Networks and works with ESPN on the MLL Game of the week. He also works with the LAX United website and the coordination of content from the broadcasts to the web.
Prior to joining Major League Lacrosse he worked for 13 years in remote sports television production, the last eight as a producer of live sporting events.
Chris is a graduate of Ithaca College with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.
Ryan joined Major League Lacrosse in May 2010. He produces video and animated and static graphic elements for use on majorleaguelacrosse.com, in-stadium video boards, creative television and web marketing, digital media kits, sponsor related items, money reels, the MLL YouTube channel and special events. He is the Head Editor and Assistant Producer of Lax United’s magazine style show Inside The MLL which airs weekly on CBS Sports Network.
Prior to joining Major League Lacrosse, Ryan worked for one year as a Production Assistant with WHDH-TV, the local NBC news affiliate in Boston, MA. His other professional experiences include interning with The Escape Artists on the Sony Pictures Studio Lot in Culver City, CA and Rugged Entertainment in West Hollywood, CA. He was also a video-production intern with Major League Lacrosse.
Ryan graduated from Ithaca College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Television Video Production and a Minor in Business Administration.
Amy joined Major League Lacrosse in February of 2011. She manages the day-to-day accounting functions for the league, benefits management, cash flow management, budget analysis, financial statement preparation and human resources. Amy is also in charge of the league office and player payroll.
Prior to joining Major League Lacrosse, Amy was a Senior Accountant at GRKB, a public accounting firm, for three years. There, she gained great experience in auditing small businesses, employee benefit plans, and various taxes. She received her Bachelor’s and MBA from Assumption College in Accounting and Human Resources.
Cassie joined Major League Lacrosse in February 2012. She is in charge of creating graphics to be used for the League’s social media sites, the League website and other League marketing materials. Cassie is also responsible for providing creative support for MLL teams for both their print and digital media materials.
Prior to joining Major League Lacrosse Cassie interned for the Boston Cannons in 2011 and with Jett Development, a Mountain Biking Company based out of Colorado in 2010.
Cassie received her Bachelor’s Degree from Colorado State University in Fine Arts.
Alexandra came on board at Major League Lacrosse in December of 2012 as a Marketing Consultant. She oversees and strategizes the MLL’s marketing and PR content concentrating on advertising campaigns, league sponsorships and special event initiatives. Alex also manages on the league’s social media and communications platforms, along with supervising the production of MLL Insider Newsletter and SLASH game day magazine.
Before joining the team at Major League Lacrosse, Alex spent a number of years working in PR and Social Media Marketing for a Boston PR firm, writing and developing television shows for a number of networks including NBC, PBS and Lifetime Television in Los Angeles. She also worked in sports production for the Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins for NESN and FOX, and was the head manager for the Boston University Terriers Men’s Ice Hockey team.
Alex received her Bachelor of Science degree from Boston University in Communications.
Communications & Marketing Manager
Marco Rosa joined Major League Lacrosse in December of 2012 as its new Communications and Marketing Manager.
Marco serves as MLL's day to day public relations manager and is also responsible for the League's editorial content, website management and securing strategic news coverage about the League's business relations with corporate partners, philanthropy in the community, as well as high-profile promotions and off-field stories about players in entertainment and lifestyle mediums.
Prior to joining MLL, Marco spent the past five years with professional soccer. He most recently was the Communications Manager for the Columbus Crew of Major League Soccer and prior to that, spent four years with the Carolina RailHawks of the NASL as their Communications Director. Before his life in sports, Marco's background was in the restaurant and music industry both in the US and abroad in his native country of Italy.
Marco received his Bachelor's Degree in languages and liberal arts from the University of Milan in Italy.
