The Boston Cannons, Long Island Lizards and Rochester Rattlers will battle it out this week and keep their eyes on the scoreboard as each franchise is still alive in the race to the playoffs. Charlotte, Hamilton and Ohio have all been eliminated.
Which two teams will be playoff bound and which team will be eliminated? Here, MLL breaks down the various scenarios that could transpire in Week 14.
|Chesapeake, 10-3||League Leader|
|Denver, 10-3||Wild Card No. 1|
|Long Island, 8-5||Wild Card No. 2|
|Boston, 8-5||Wild Card No. 3|
The Boston Cannons can clinch a playoff spot this week against the Machine with a win. Even if the team falls short to Ohio, they still have a shot at making a playoff run. If the Long Island Lizards win, the Rochester Rattlers will not be able to pass the Cannons based on holding the scoring margin tiebreaker. If Rochester loses, the Cannons will clinch with a one game lead over the Rattlers.
Next Game: The Cannons will travel to Ohio this Saturday, August 11 to take on the Machine at 7 p.m. ET. The game will be televised live nationally on CBS Sports Network.
The expansion Charlotte Hounds were eliminated in Week 11 after a 14-5 loss to the Rochester Rattlers. The Hounds will play their final home game at American Legion Memorial Stadium and will play the spoiler role against Rochester. A win would eliminate the Rattlers from the playoff picture.
Next Game: The Hounds will host the Rochester Rattlers this Saturday, August 11 at American Legion Memorial Stadium at 7 p.m. ET. The game will be televised live locally and on ESPN3.
In Week 11, the No. 1 Bayhawks became the first team to clinch a 2012 playoff berth with an 11-7 win over the expansion Ohio Machine. The Bayhawks are now 10-3 after defeating the Lizards in Week 13. They will have home field advantage this week against the Denver Outlaws, who clinched the second playoff spot last week. This game will determine which team will hold the No. 1 seed in the 2012 regular MLL season.
Next Game: The Bayhawks will host the Denver Outlaws at Navy-Marine Corps. Memorial Stadium this Saturday, August 11 at 7 p.m. ET. The game will be televised live locally and on ESPN3.

Next Game: The Outlaws will travel to face the Chesapeake Bayhawks this Saturday, August 11 at 7 p.m. ET. The game will be televised live locally and on ESPN3.
The Nationals were eliminated in Week 11 following a 19-12 loss to the Long Island Lizards. They are now 3-10 and will play their final game at home against the Lizards. If the Nationals win, the Lizards could be eliminated from the playoff picture if both Boston and Rochester win.
Next Game: The Hamilton Nationals will host the Long Island Lizards this Saturday, August 11 at 7 p.m. ET. The game will be televised live on ESPN3.
The Lizards can clinch a playoff spot with a win, which would move the team to 9-5. Even if the team loses to the Nationals in Week 14, a Rochester OR Boston loss will send Long Island to the playoffs. Long Island holds the head-to-head tiebreaker over Bostona nd if all three teams were tied, Long Island would be the No. 4 seed.
Next Game: The Long Island Lizards will travel to Hamilton, Ontario to face the Nationals on Saturday, August 11 at 7 p.m. ET. The game will be televised live on ESPN3.
The Ohio Machine were eliminated in Week 11 after a 11-7 loss against the Chesapeake Bayhawks. The Machine are 2-11 on the season and will finish a home-and-home series against the Boston Cannons this week. The fell short 19-13 to Boston last week at Harvard Stadium.
Next Game: The Machine will host the Boston Cannons this Saturday, August 11 at 7 p.m. The game will be televised live nationally on CBS Sports Network.
Rochester can clinch a playoff berth with a win AND a loss by Long Island. Rochester would move to 8-6 and Long Island would fall to 8-6. If Boston, Rochester and Long Island are tied at 8-6, Rochester would be the No. 3 seed as they would win the three way head-to-head tiebreaker seed and then Long Island would become the No. 4 seed based on holding a 2-0 head-to-head record against the Cannons. If only Rochester and Long Island are tied at 8-6 (assuming Boston wins), Rochester would advance based on holding a 2-0 head-to-head record over Long Island.
