MLL Founders Jake Steinfeld and Dave Morrow will be making a special appearance this Saturday and Sunday at the 2012 MLL Championship Weekend presented by Warrior at Harvard Stadium in Boston, Mass. They will be signing their new book “Take a Shot” and will donate 20% of the profits to MetroLacrosse, a lacrosse based non-profit organization.
“The story of how Jake Steinfeld and Dave Morrow created Major League Lacrosse is an inspirational one,” says Mike Levin, president and CEO of MetroLacrosse. “ At MetroLacrosse we work to make sure that all of our participants dream big and stay focused on their goals and both Dave and Jake really embody these ideals. Take a Shot is the remarkable story of the birth of Major League Lacrosse by Jake Steinfeld and Dave Morrow is not only a tale laced with Jake's signature “Don’t Quit” mantra, it reveals the challenges and hilarity that ensued on the road to founding the first outdoor professional lacrosse league.
Books will be on sale during Championship Weekend. Visit the Harvard Coop table inside the gates near the merchandise tents on Saturday 8/25 in between the semi-finals and then Harvard Coop will be outside in the fanzone on Sunday 8/26 prior to the Championship Finals. Jake and Dave will be signing books during these times.
MetroLacrosse is a non-profit organization that promotes positive youth development and access to educational opportunities through the sport of lacrosse. The program serves more than 700 young people in Boston and Chelsea throughout the year, as well as 200 participants through national summer programs, and is the largest urban lacrosse and education program in the country.
MLL will host its 2012 Championship Weekend presented by Warrior on August 25 and 26 at Harvard Stadium in Boston, Mass. It will be a battle of the top four teams and will include two semi-final games on Saturday followed by the championship game on Sunday. Tickets are available now via Ticketmaster.com.
