Today Brine announced the signing of Major League Lacrosse rookie Rob Pannell, of the New York Lizards to Brine Team Elite. Pannell has celebrated much success in both professional, and college play, and will be a great representation of Brine lacrosse.
Mike Rabinovitz, Marketing Manager at Brine is excited about the addition, "Simply put, Rob Pannell is the perfect embodiment of what Brine lacrosse stands for." In reference to Pannell's play, he said, "He's an absolute student of the game, dedicating every waking hour to not only perfecting his skills, but helping his teammates succeed as well."
Pannell currently leads the Lizards, and all rookies with 36 points on the season. An accelerated first step and quick release, coupled with dynamic passing and the ability to find his teammates, has allowed Pannell to quickly insert himself into the top ranks of the MLL. A front-runner for this season's Cascade Rookie of the Year award, a 2013 All-Star selection, and a Week Five Cascade Rookie of the Week accolade, highlight the first-year player's early success.
Pannell entered the MLL with little to no break after one of the best college careers in NCAA history. The Cornell University graduate finished his tenure as the all-time leading scorer in NCAA Division I men's lacrosse history, boasting 354 career points. He was awarded the 2013 Tewaaraton Trophy, the premier award in collegiate lacrosse, the 2013 USILA Lt. Raymond J. Enners Award, the collegiate player of the year award, as well as the Ivy-League Player of the Year for the third time in his career. Pannell was selected as the overall number one pick of the 2012 MLL Collegiate Draft.
Off the field, Pannell is just as active. He continues to grow the game in different parts of the country through camps and clinics, and always makes himself available for autographs, questions, and general interaction.
"I couldn't be more excited to be joining the Brine family," Pannell said. "They have such a deep history in the game, and to be able to play as a member of Brine Team Elite is a huge honor for me."
