Boston (August 19, 2013)– Major League Lacrosse, the premier outdoor lacrosse League, announced today a full three days of radio coverage during Championship Weekend, presented by Smartlink, through MLL Radio partner TuneIn. Fans will have unfettered access to all things Championship Weekend, starting on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m.
“We are excited to provide even more coverage to our fans from Championship Weekend,” said MLL Commissioner David Gross. “TuneIn is a great partner and this coverage will be an additional way for our fans to connect with our marquee event of the season.”
Coverage will begin at 3 p.m. on Friday, August 23, with a live edition of ‘Running with the Outlaws’ straight from Denver’s practice at PPL Park. Host Bryan Roche will bring fans interviews and insight as the Outlaws prepare for the next day’s semifinal. The show will re-air at its normal time on Friday evening at 6 p.m.
At 7 p.m. on Friday evening, MLL Radio regulars Tim Thomas, Mike Sportini, Bryan Roche and James Boger will host a special edition of MLL Live with a roundtable discussion about the season and the upcoming matches straight from the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown with special guests throughout the evening.
On Saturday, August 24, Sportini and Boger will preview the first semifinal between Denver and Charlotte with the MLL Pre-Game show starting at 12:30 p.m. from the MLL Fan Zone at PPL Park.
Coverage continues at 1 p.m. when Roche and Thomas bring all the action of the first semifinal. Sportini and Boger will take over at the conclusion of the first game to bring fans commentary and insight as well as prepare them for the second semifinal between Hamilton and Chesapeake. That game will also be broadcast live at 4 p.m. with Roche and Thomas back on the call.
Saturday will conclude with the MLL Radio Post-Game show as Sportini and Boger will provide commentary on the day and preview the Championship Game.
Sunday, August 25 coverage will begin at 2:30 p.m. with Sportini and Boger hosting the MLL Pre-Game Show from the MLL Fan Zone while Roche and Thomas will again be on the call for the Championship Game at 3 p.m. The day will conclude with the Post-Game show when Sportini and Boger will be joined by Roche and Thomas to recap the day’s events and provide some final commentary from PPL Park.
