The MLL season has officially ended but that just gives us a chance to showcase our amazing players a bit more. So today we’re talking movies with the Rochester Rattlers’ Midfielder John Ranagan in our MLL Movie Mania. Who’s his favorite actress? Who’d play him in a movie? What’s his favorite flick? Read on…
MLL: What is your favorite movie of all time?
Ranagan: I have a lot of movies I like a lot, but my favorite movie has gotta be SpaceJam.
MLL: What is in your DVD Collection?
Ranagan: My DVD collection is weak I'm not gonna lie, but it mostly consists of sports movies and war movies, but my family has a great lineup of Disney movies.
MLL: What’s the next movie in your Netflix queue?
Ranagan: I just saw that Supertroopers is now on Netflix so the next time I have some free time and need a good laugh I am for sure turning it on.
MLL: What’s your favorite movie quote?
Ranagan: "I don't scratch my head unless it itches and I don't dance unless I hear some music, I will not be intimated" - Coach Boone, Remember the Titans
MLL: What’s your favorite sports movie?
Ranagan: Gotta go with the quote, Remember the Titans! Great movie and almost a better soundtrack, check it out a bunch of old school jams.
MLL: Who is your favorite actress?
Ranagan: I've used this one before but it's still Jennifer Anniston. Maybe I'm old school but watch the trailer for We're the Millers and tell me I'm wrong!!
MLL: If they made a movie about your life, who would play you?
Ranagan: If a movie was being made about my life, I think I would want Clint Eastwood to play me. He seems like a boss.
MLL: Movie Face-Off – Which do you like better and why?
Ranagan: Caddyshack vs Slap Shot– Caddyshack hands down, one of the funniest movies of all time!
Major League vs Bull Durham– Major League, Charlie Sheen back in his prime?? Next question.
Miracle vs Remember the Titans– I do love Remember the Titans, but Miracle is about the greatest country in the world persevering and letting the rest of the world know we're #1 so I'm going Miracle.
Rocky vs Raging Bull– While visiting Tucker Durkin in college he took me to the Rocky statue in Philly so I think I'll go Rocky on this one.
Mighty Ducks vs Bad News Bears– The Mighty Ducks is an absolute classic, Coach Gordon Bombay should have gotten some serious NHL looks after that one!
Varsity Blues vs Friday Night Lights–In Powderpuff football my senior of high school our team name was Varsity Blues. Although our team didn't do as well as the West Canaan Coyotes, we all loved that movie back in the day and it’s still a classic!
Kingpin vs The Big Lebowski– The Dude in The Big Lebowski is an absolute legend, I'm gonna have to go with him, dude, man.
