There were plenty of memorable performances in the 2013 MLL season. As the 2013 calendar year comes to a close, we decided to look back and count down the Top 13 performances of 2013. At #4:
Westervelt nets eight
Date: 6/6 vs. New York
This was the second huge performance from a Bayhawks attackman against the Lizards this season, but this time, it came when the entire offense was firing on all cylinders. However, you can’t ignore what Westervelt did, regardless of how much help he had. His eight-goal, one-assist performance powered Chesapeake to an easy 19-8 victory.
The rest of 2013: Westervelt had yet another strong season, scoring a career-high 36 goals and 48 points. His 36 goals ranked third in the league, only behind Chris Bocklet and Kevin Crowley. In the postseason, Westervelt scored a hat trick and added an assist in a tightly contested 10-9 title game victory.
