KEY PLAYERS RENEW CONTRACTS FOR 2011 MLL SEASON
Boston, MA (February 18, 2011) –Major League Lacrosse (MLL), the premier professional outdoor lacrosse league, announced the signing of several key players this week, including Boston Cannons attackman and 2010 Bud Light MLL MVP, Matt Poskay, who agreed to a one-year contract.
Poskay will enter his sixth season with the Boston Cannons. Last year he set the all-time Cannons scoring record with 140 goals, as well as the single-season record with 45 on the year. He played in all 12 games. In addition to being named the 2010 Bud Light MLL MVP, he was named the 2010 Warrior MLL Offensive Player of the year and was named to the 2010 All-MLL Team.
Max Seibald also re-signed, agreeing to a one-year contract to play for the Denver Outlaws. The midfielder played on the US Men’s National Team at the 2010 World Championships, where he won the gold medal. The Cornell grad won the 2009 Tewaaraton Trophy, given to the most outstanding American college lacrosse player. This will be Seibald’s third season with the Outlaws.
Brian Langtry has also re-signed for another year. He will enter his sixth season with the Outlaws. Langtry played in ten regular season games last year with 22 points, 11 goals and ten assists. He played in one post season game before Denver lost in the semi-finals. In 2009 Langtry was named the Bud Light MLL All-Star Game MVP.
Lee Zink, who also plays for the Denver Outlaws, re-signed for another year. Zink will enter his eighth MLL season overall and his seventh season with the Outlaws. He was traded from Baltimore in 2005.
Kyle Hartzell will enter his fourth MLL season this year and will play for the Chesapeake Bayhawks for a second season. He was the 2010 Bud Light MLL Championship Weekend MVP. The defenseman played in nine games last year.
Michael Evans also re-signed and will enter his third season with the Chesapeake Bayhawks. The defenseman played in all 12 games last year and was part of the winning MLL National Championship team.
