DENVER, Colo. - Midfielder Paul Rabil scored three goals, including a two-point marker, and added three assists as the Boston Cannons (6-1) rallied from a four-point half-time deficit to earn their fifth straight win, a 15-12 Major League Lacrosse victory over the Denver Outlaws in front of an MLL-record crowd of 27,184 fans at INVESCO Field at Mile High on Sunday night.

Rabil, who earned Bud Light Player of the Game honors with his six-point effort, scored two of his goals in the second half as the Cannons overcame a 7-3 deficit at the intermission to take sole possession of first place in the MLL standings.

Led by a goal and an assist from midfielder Kevin Buchanan, the Cannons sprinted out to a quick 3-0 lead in the opening 11 minutes of the game. Rabil and midfielder Brad Ross also scored a goal during the spurt.

However, the Outlaws responded and scored seven straight points, including a pair of goals from midfielder Peet Poillon and a two-point goal from midfielder Max Seibald, to take a 7-3 advantage at the intermission.

Just 41 seconds into the second half, attackman Matt Poskay ended a nearly 20-minute scoring drought for the Cannons by scoring off a Rabil feed to trim the deficit to 7-4.

After the teams traded goals three times later in the third quarter, including another two-point marker from Seibald, Rabil scored on a two-point goal with 53 seconds left in the period to close the deficit to 11-9.

The Cannons completed their comeback in the first nine minutes of the fourth quarter by scoring four straight goals, including a pair of markers from attackman Max Quinzani, to gain a 13-11 advantage with 6:19 left.

After midfielder Bill McGlone scored his third goal of the game to end the Cannons' run, Boston used goals from Ross and Poskay to put the game out of reach with two minutes left.

While Rabil led the Cannons' offense with a seven-point performance, Ross contributed his third "hat trick" of the season with a three-goal effort. Poskay contributed two goals with two assists while Buchanan had two goals with an assist.

McGlone led Denver in a losing effort with three goals and an assist while Seibald became the third player in the MLL to score a pair of two-point goals in a game this year.

The Outlaws outshot Boston by a 45-41 margin and had a 27-25 advantage in ground balls.

The game drew an MLL-record 27,184 fans, which broke the previous record of 23,433 which was set last year by the Outlaws against Chesapeake on July 4.
