DELAWARE, Ohio - After losing on their home field against the Ohio Machine on Friday night, the Hamilton Nationals returned the favor on Saturday night and earned a 14-12 victory over Ohio at Selby Stadium.

The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Nationals and marked their first win since June 9 against Rochester. Meanwhile, the Machine lost for the sixth time in the last seven games.

Led by two goals from attackman Kevin Crowley, the Nationals jumped out to a 4-2 lead in the first 11 minutes of the first quarter. A goal from attackman Chazz Woodson with 14 seconds remaining in the period trimmed the margin to 4-3.

The Nationals extended their advantage to 6-3 in the first three minutes of the second quarter on a pair of goals from attackman Garrett Billings before the Machine countered with back-to-back goals from midfielder Ray Megill and attackman Connor Martin to end the first half.

After rookie Joe Cummings tied the game at 6-6 in the first two minutes of the third quarter with the first goal of his MLL career, the Nationals used a four-goal run to regain a four-point advantage with 3:16 left in the period. Midfielder Cody Jamieson scored twice during the run for the Nationals.

The teams exchanged goals before midfielder Matt Casey scored a two-point goal with 10:41 remaining in the fourth quarter, trimming the margin to 11-9. But, midfielder Jeremy Thompson answered less than a minute later with an unassisted goal to extend the cushion to 12-9.

The Machine narrowed the deficit to 12-11 midway through the final stanza when Stanwick and Martin each scored a goal, but the Nationals answered with back-to-back markers from Jamieson and midfielder Stephen Keogh.

Casey cut the margin to 14-12 when he scored off an assist from attackman Jim Connolly with 2:29 left, but the Machine did not get any closer.

While Billings led the Nationals with three goals and two assists, Jamieson added three goals with an assist while Crowley contributed a three-goal performance.

Casey led Ohio in a losing effort by scoring two goals, including a two-pointer.
