Blaze finish year with 18-16 win over Cannons

August 5, 2017

GAME RECAP

BOSTON (August 5, 2017) – In the final game of the 2017 season for both teams, the Blaze picked up an 18-16 win over the Cannons on Saturday night at Harvard Stadium.

Atlanta finished the year 6-8, while Boston closed out the year with a 3-11 mark.

A back-and-forth first half saw a scuffle erupt between rookie Luke Goldstock and Jeremy Noble in the first quarter, with unsportsmanlike conduct and unnecessary roughness penalties issued to both sides.

Atlanta pulled away in the second half with a six-goal run in the third and fourth quarter, with Kevin Rice scoring three times.

PLAYERS OF NOTE

Kevin Rice was named the Coca-Cola Player of the Game with five goals, including a two-pointer, and two assists. The two-point goal was the first of his career.

Former Cannons player John Uppgren had two goals for Atlanta.

Kylor Bellistri (2 goals, assist) finished the season with 39 points, good for the most on the team.

Luke Goldstock had two goals for his third straight multi-point game.
