COLUMBUS, Ohio (June 10, 2017) - The Ohio Machine extended their winning streak to three games with a 13-12 overtime win over the Boston Cannons at Fortress Obetz on Saturday night. Mark Cockerton netted the game-winning goal for Ohio more than nine minutes into the OT period.
The Cannons led the first quarter with three goals to the Machine's one goal by captain Kyle Harrison, returning for his first game after missing the first six games. The Machine responded in the second quarter causing a 10-minute goal drought for Boston and ended the half with a 5-4 lead.
Ohio maintained the lead until Kevin Buchanan’s two-point goal marked the start of the Cannons' five-point run and ultimately the go-ahead goal by Justin Turri with less than two minutes left. Brian Karalunas then caused a turnover that led to Tom Schreiber tying the game at 12-12 and sending it to OT.
Cockerton scored the winner on a Schreiber feed 9:42 into the extra frame.
