Lax Rodeo to Kick Off MLL Championship Weekend

BOSTON (June 13, 2017) – Major League Lacrosse (MLL), the premier outdoor professional lacrosse league, announced today that the MLL players, Aloha Tournaments and BSN Sports will jointly host the MLL Championship Lax Rodeo on August 18 and 19 at the Warren Sports Complex in Frisco, Texas in conjunction with the MLL Championship Game at Ford Center at the Star.

“The Lax Rodeo is going to be a unique opportunity for players, coaches and their families to compete, learn from top MLL players and watch the very best lacrosse in the world at the MLL Championship Game,” said Michael Cooke, Vice President of Operations at Aloha Tournaments. “We are thrilled to partner with MLL and its players to deliver this one-of-a-kind lacrosse experience.”

The two-day event includes the Team Tournament on Friday, August 18 at Warren Sports Complex featuring an eight-on-eight division for high school graduation years 2021-2022 and a seven-on-seven division for the classes of 2023-2026. Registration for the tournament closes on July 21. 

Saturday, August 19 at the Warren Sports Complex will feature the Players’ Clinic hosted by MLL stars Josh Hawkins, Brendan Fowler and Marcus Holman, the BSN Coaches Clinic hosted by Rochester Rattlers defenseman Joel White, and the Skills Competition open to all player participants in the team tournament and/or players’ clinic.   

"The MLL Players are extremely excited to partner with Aloha Tournaments, Major League Lacrosse and BSN Sports for the Lax Rodeo,” New York Lizards defenseman Ryan Flanagan said. “The event is the first in a three-event agreement between Aloha, MLL and the MLL Players and will provide youth players and coaches with an incredible opportunity to learn from some of the best players and coaches in lacrosse. We're extremely excited to get down to Frisco!"

The MLL Championship Game will be played on Saturday, August 19 at Ford Center at the Star in Frisco, marking the first ever MLL Championship Game in the state of Texas.
