Run us through your typical game day:

I'll usually wake up between 8 a.m. and noon, but perhaps earlier. Or later. I don't get married to routines. I do, however, always blast off on a coffee or 2 upon waking up. That's when the smiling starts. Then I eat an egg sandwich from the Salt Air Cafe, which is up the block from my childhood house in Point Lookout, NY, before heading over to the stadium 2 hours before gametime. Those 2 hours leading into the game consist of stretching, horsing around, taking energy supplements with Kev Unterstein, and dapping up our team consultant, Mookie. Sometimes I do autographs, but it tends to take me out of the zone. So normally when I see a team employee walk into the locker room looking for players sign autographs, I quickly strip down to my compression shorts to make it seem like I just arrived. It's pretty effective. Other players have jumped on the trend.

How does being from Long Island make your experience with the Lizards different?

It's awesome to play where I was raised. I even played with a few of my teammates growing up (Skudin, Palasek, Cipriano). And it's great to represent New York. I love NY - the people, the culture, the bagels, etc. The best part, though, is that my family and friends can attend games. My parents have been first team all-tailgate my whole life, so they tilt a few back in the parking lot before every game.

On your team, what are you better at than anyone else?

The lefty attack spot, I think. Happy hour. Also most things involving both meaningful and meaningless wordplay.

How did playing lacrosse at Yale affect you as a player and as a person?

I owe an enormous part of who I am as a lacrosse player to the Yale Lacrosse program - the staff and my teammates. In terms of who I am as a person, it's harder to pinpoint who is to be blamed for that. I think I would be a pretty similar person regardless of where I went to school. The best part about attending Yale was that I got to play with my brother for two years.

What were your favorite moments of the 2015 season?

Winning the championship is #1. Winning the semifinal in OT is #2. The flight from NY to Denver for the regular season finale is #3.

How did you celebrate after winning the 2015 Championship?

With Michelob Ultras in overalls.

What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?

I'd say moving to California right after college graduation. I just packed up a car with my friend Chad and drove to LA. I didn't really have a solid life plan. Maybe I still don't. In fact, I gotta finish up these questions and get back to work.

If you could trade lives with one TV or movie character, who would it be?

Anthony Bourdain.

What are your favorite ways to spend time in the off season?

I spend most of my time writing, playing/coaching lacrosse, and tilting 'em back with friends.

You’ve won a lot of awards in college and the MLL, but what’s been your proudest achievement?

My favorite memory is still beating Cornell my senior year in college. It was the first time we beat the Big Red. I had 8 assists and didn't take a shot. It helped that Pannell was hurt that game.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

I don't like advice. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
