COLUMBUS, Ohio (May 22, 2013)– The Ohio Machine of Major League Lacrosse announced today it has activated three of its 2013 MLL Collegiate Draft Selections, including 2013 Tewaaraton Award Finalist Marcus Holman and The Ohio State University players Logan Schuss and Dominique Alexander. All three will be available for selection for the CBS Sports Network televised game against the Hamilton Nationals on Thursday, May 23.
“These three rookies will bring a lot of positive energy to the team,” said Machine Head Coach Ted Garber. “They are all looking forward to being part of the Ohio Machine and playing in the MLL. We’re excited to see what they will bring to the team and to the field this season.”
Marcus Holman joins the Machine after ending an historic 2013 senior tenure with the University of North Carolina. While leading the UNC team as a solo captain, Holman set UNC’s all-time leading scorer record and recorded an ACC-best 74 points in the regular season. Holman was also named 2013 ACC Offensive Player of the Year, First Team All-ACC and the ACC Tournament Most Outstanding Player.
Ohio State players Logan Schuss and Dominique Alexander helped the Buckeyes to the NCAA Quarterfinals this past season, both setting career highs during their 2013 senior seasons. Schuss finished his college career as OSU’s all-time leading goal scorer with 146 and second in school history for points with 237 after setting a career-high 44 goals, 28 assists and 72 points in 2013. With the Buckeyes, Schuss was named a four-time First Team All-ECAC, two-time All-American and 2013 USILA Scholar All-America, as well as ECAC Offensive Player of the Year in 2012 and 2013. Alexander served as co-captain of the 2013 team and played in 62 games for the Buckeyes. A 2013 USILA Scholar All-America, Alexander closed out his career as a Buckeye with 47 goals, 48 assists and 95 points after recording a career-high 20 assists, 29 points and 28 groundballs in 17 games.
The Ohio Machine takes on the Hamilton Nationals on Thursday, May 23, at 7:30 p.m. for Military Appreciation Night. The game will be televised live nationally on CBS Sports Network.
