March 18, 2016
There were plenty of memorable performances in the 2013 MLL season. As the 2013 calendar year comes to a close, we decided to look back and count down the Top 13 performances of 2013. At #13:

X marks the spot for Gurenlian

Date: 7/20 vs. Charlotte

The Charlotte Hounds learned the hard way why Greg Gurenlian is nicknamed the “Beast.” Gurenlian dominated the Hounds at the faceoff “x,” going 17 of 22, which translates to 77% on the day. As if that wasn’t enough, Gurenlian topped off the day with an assist in a tough loss against playoff-bound Charlotte.

The rest of 2013: Gurenlian dominated in the dot once again, going 232-362 on the year. His 64.1% is now the all-time single-season record, passing Paul Cantabene’s 63.3% set back in 2004. The “Beast” now ranks fourth all-time in faceoffs won, thanks in large part to his huge performance against Charlotte and strong 2013 season.
