BOSTON (May 1, 2018) – Charlotte Hounds defenseman Michael Ehrhardt was named the Warrior Defensive Player of the Week for Week 2. He helped the Hounds to a 13-12 win over the Rattlers on Friday night in Charlotte.
Ehrhardt, 26, collected six groundballs, caused two turnovers and did not turn the ball over once in the win. With less than a minute remaining in regulation and the Hounds holding a one-goal lead, Ehrhardt stripped the ball from Dallas midfielder Mike Lazore after the Rattlers won the faceoff. The play sealed the win for Charlotte as they were able to hold the ball for the remainder of the game with the shot clock turned off.
The former Maryland standout was selected by the Hounds with the seventh-overall selection in the 2014 Collegiate Draft. He has appeared in 50 games for Charlotte and has collected 179 groundballs in his career.
