ROCHESTER, N.Y. (June 10, 2017) - Playing in his first professional game, Zed Williams scored the game-winning goal in overtime, lifting the Rattlers to a 17-16 win over the Bayhawks on Saturday night at Capelli Sport Stadium.
Williams, who was selected by Rochester in the third round of this year's Collegiate Draft, finished the game with two goals.
Rochester limited the Bayhawks to just three goals in the first half, but squandered a five-goal lead at the break after Chesapeake rallied for eight goals in the third quarter.
Another Rochester rookie, Eric Fannell, gave the Rattlers a lead with under two minutes left in regulation, but Matt Danowski scored the tying goal just 14 seconds later to send the game to overtime. Williams then netted the game winner on a feed from Ned Crotty 6:21 into the extra period.
