KENNESAW, Ga. (June 3, 2017) – James Pannell and Matt Mackrides combined for 13 points, lifting the Atlanta Blaze to a 19-18 win over the Charlotte Hounds on Saturday night. The win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Blaze, improving to 2-3 on the season.
Atlanta scored eight goals in the first quarter, including two from Pannell.
The Hounds took a 13-9 lead in the third quarter thanks to a seven-goal second quarter and a run of nine straight goals.
Chris Bocklet gave Atlanta the lead 5:52 into the fourth quarter and they held on despite two Charlotte goals in the final three minutes of regulation.
PLAYERS OF NOTE
James Pannell had a season-high seven points and his first two-point goal of the season. The effort earned him the Coca-Cola Player of the Game.
In his pro debut, John Crawley tallied a game-high six goals and an assist.
Chris Bocklet set new season highs in goals (4) and points (5).
