Kennedy, the co-host of morning show, Karson & Kennedy on Mix 104.1, has experience singing before major sporting events. She previously sang the National Anthem prior to the 2011 MLL All-Star Game and Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics and New England Patriots home games.
The MLL Championship Game on Sunday, August 26 at 3 p.m. will feature a National Anthem performance by ‘National Anthem Girl,’ Janine Stange. She earned the nickname by travelling around the United States performing the National Anthem at various events to raise funds for the Armed Forces Foundation.
“I am really passionate about this country and you always want to use what your gift is to help people,” says Janine Stange. “The National Anthem and our soldiers are the epitome of patriotism and my hope is to evoke pride in our country by singing.”
Her patriotic efforts have been shared with Major League Lacrosse before. Stange previously worked as the public relations director for the Long Island Lizards, often singing the anthem prior to Lizards’ home games.
“I ended up falling in love with the sport because there’s so much action," says Stange. "When I took the job I told them ‘you have to let me sing as many anthems as I can.”
She now returns to the action on MLL’s biggest stage.
