| During the 2013 MLL season, Major League Lacrosse will be using a power ranking system to show fans how their favorite team stacks up against the competition. A teams' power ranking is based on cumulative season statistics, as well as voting conducted by MLL.com's contributing writers. After raw scores from the two are combined, teams will then be rated on a scale of 1-100. That final number will represent a team's power ranking for that week.

|| Denver is off to an 8-0 start to the season, and showed little signs of slowing down in a 19-5 defeat over the Machine. The offense gets a lot of the credit for this team, but Lee Zink and the defense has consistently shut teams down as well.

|| Hamilton had one of its best games against Rochester this past week. Five Nationals scored multiple goals, demonstrating that Hamilton’s offense is more than just Kevin Crowley. Brett Queener racked up a franchise record 25 saves. Facing Chesapeake at home next week will give Hamilton a chance to prove that they deserve to be the second-best team in the League.

|| Charlotte won an important game this weekend in their win against the Bayhawks. Attackman Matt Danowski was a huge factor in breaking down the aggressive Chesapeake defense, scoring 7 points and earing Offensive Player of the Week honors.

|| The loss to Charlotte this weekend hurts, it was the third overtime loss for the ‘Hawks, and they seemed to be in control of the game midway through the third quarter. The team can put points on the board, but they tend to rely on two-pointers too heavily, which came back to hurt them this week.

|| Boston Strong! It seems like they’ve finally woken up and improved from being 1-5, to 3-5. With both Denver games out of the way for the season, they still face challenges with Hamilton, Chesapeake and Charlotte, who are all ahead of the Cannons at this point.

|| Rochester just couldn’t put up a fight this week, and that seems to be a trend these days for a team that had some potential at the beginning of the season. John Galloway is still looking good in goal, but there isn’t much else going for this team.

|| The Lizards have most of the pieces to be a powerhouse, but for some reason they just aren't clicking and that is why they find themselves sitting in seventh in our power rankings.

|| Ohio made a coaching change after their most recent defeat. The Machine are hoping for the same success that Boston has had after their coaching change.
